2012 Blogging Year in Review {This Journey Our Life}

This past year of blogging has been a journey of its own.

I re-launched my blog at the beginning of February and committed to blogging consistently as a way to keep family and friends updated on our lives and Cami’s progress.

As I began to navigate my way around the online community and grow more confident as a writer the focus of my blog began to take natural shape. Throughout the entire process my desire continued to be the same:  to share my personal journey of special needs parenting, encouraging others who find themselves walking a similar path.

The highlight of this journey?  Meeting each of you along the way.

As I’ve shared my heart throughout my journey, my hope is that you have been encouraged in yours.

With 2012 coming to a close, I thought I’d post a review of this past year by sharing This Journey Our Life's Top Ten blog posts (based solely upon page views).

Top Ten Posts of 2012

10.  Aching Arms, Aching HeartWritten as a participation in Five Minute Friday, this post describes the ache I felt when I was unable to hold my prematurely born daughter.  Even worse? The ache of parents unable to hold their child ever again.

7.  Cami Update—Prayer Request—The first “Cami update” of the year. It was also the beginning of our journey for further answers.

6.  Some Answers to Our Questions: An Update on Cami—The results of the evaluations and testing which revealed Cami’s recent diagnoses.

5.  Fear of Change—Another Five Minute Friday in which I share Cami’s difficulty with transitions, along with something I learned through a recent scenario that had taken place.

4.  Journey of Faith—Previously, this was the number one viewed post at This Journey Our Life. It is the post in which I share the story of Cami’s premature birth, and also provided the inspiration for my blog’s name.

3.  A Father’s Day {Guest} Post—This post features Rudy’s guest post over at the Different Dream website in which he shares about his first Father’s Day which followed Cami’s premature birth by three days.

2.  Embarking on a Journey: The day I found out my daughter was blind— On Day 2 of the 31 Days of Support Series, I shared the moment I first realized my daughter was blind.

1.  31 Days of Support for Your Special Needs Parenting Journey—This introductory post for the 31 Day series in October features links to every post in the series.
